July 20, 2020 How can we contribute to the rise of the Transformation Age? We first need to understand what’s driving the emergence of the Transformation Age out of the Information Age: a global metacrisis, occurring amidst a great release of global power, which as it becomes more acute is exposing the limitations of the current era’s structures, sensemaking, key contradictions (all pluribus, little unum), scarce resources (meaning), and the sources of power themselves (convening power).
Robb Smith
Robb is a social innovator who coined the term the Transformation Age and is a leader in integral philosophy and the global integrative metatheory movement. As founder and CEO of Integral Life, he advises entrepreneurs, executives and thought leaders on leading-edge innovation and applications of integral philosophy.
He founded the Institute of Applied Metatheory in 2022 to help integrative movements experiment with applied social action. In 2023 IAM spun out Context, the world's first Augmented Leadership platform, which merges AI with mental model visualization to help leaders think integrally naturally and easily.
He was founder of Chrysallis, which was the world's most comprehensive personal and professional development app, nominated for the 2015 Goldman Sachs Healthcare Startup of the Year and in 2016 for the IONS award for Transformational Technology. In 2016 Chrysallis was acquired by ADURO.
Prior to that, he was a co-founder and partner in Nevada Ventures, the state's first venture capital fund, where he dedicated himself to building Nevada's innovation economy. He is a former director of Alere, a three-time Inc. 500 awardee, which became the largest population health management company in the United States (NYSE: ALR).
He was named Nevada's Young Entrepreneur of the Year and is former president of Entrepreneur's Organization Reno-Tahoe. He started the Nevada Ventures Nanoscience Program at the University of Nevada and spun-out Nevada Nano, whose detection of explosive, chemical and biological substances was chosen by Scientific American as the best defense-related technology of 2004.
He is a graduate of University of Nevada (undergraduate in finance, graduate work in philosophy), the Venture Capital Institute and held the Certified Management Accountant and Certified in Financial Management designations. He is a fellow of Desert Research Institute, a former fellow of Aspen Institute and former trustee of Nevada Museum of Art. He was named to Nevada Top 20 under 40 lists in 3 different decades and in 2012 he was nominated for the TED Prize.
